WHO IS THIS MODULE DESIGNED FOR?
If you are looking to learn more about materials and manual techniques you can use for your artwork and find out how you can apply them efficiently using software applications, this module could be especially designed for you. Please notice this is a 2-year module.
WHAT WILL YOU LEARN?
As you might know, there is a bigger connection between manual and digital techniques than one would think. To get a better understanding of this powerful relationship, we will divide the day in 2 blocks: manual work will be alternated with digital applications. During the first year, we will introduce different writing- and drawingtools, paints and other supplies used in the lettering arts and you will learn how Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator can be beneficial to you. The following year we will talk about manual printing techniques, collage and bookbinding followed by bringing all your knowledge in Adobe InDesign or different specific software applications.
WHAT IS THE EXPECTED LEARNING OUTCOME?
Power to the people who know their tools, how and when to use them. It will put you in a stronger position when solving or adapting design issues. You learn to see links between analogue and digital methodologies and will shift swiftly between these different ways of thinking. Your deeper understanding will improve your work efficiency.
